Winter is the best of all seasons and I like this season the most. December, January and February are the three winter months. The weather at this time is very pleasant. In this season we can work hard but do not get tired. We put on warm clothes and enjoy the bright sunshine. The nights are very cold. The night in a warm bed under a quilt is very comfortable.

Paddy is harvested in this season. Colourful seasonal flowers grow in gardens. Fish, vegetables and fruits are also available in plenty in this season. They are very cheap also. This is the most suitable time for holding picnics in the open air. We can go out and hold excursions in winter.

Various types of fairs are held and festivals like Saraswati Puja, Christmas, and New Year’s Day are celebrated in this season. I enjoy the vacation by going to a beach or a hill station with friends and families. In summer I like to have cold drinks, lassi, ice cream, and coconut water.

My Favourite Season Autumn Essay

During the rainy season, the sky remains overcast with clouds. Rains fall continually. But, with autumn, the clouds are no more. A deep blue sky spreads, like a deep blue sea. The white patches of clouds float like little fairy boats.

The day looks golden with the sun shining. The night has a silvery moon, with its silvery luster. The millions of stars, too, sparkle. Now and then, rain begins to fall thick and fast. But then suddenly the rain stops and, again, a deep blue sky smiles. In autumn, the rivers are full to the brim. The fields are all green and golden with crops. Men and women are busy among them, reaping the harvest. Nature and man seem to unite in one mood of peaceful gladness. Autumn is my favourite season.

Students are often asked to write an essay on My Favourite Season in their schools and colleges. And if you’re also looking for the same, we have created 100-word, 250-word, and 500-word essays on the topic.

Let’s take a look…

100 Words Essay on My Favourite Season

Introduction.

My favourite season is spring. It is the season that follows winter and precedes summer.

The Beauty of Spring

Spring is a season of rebirth. Trees regain their green leaves, flowers bloom, and animals come out of hibernation. The world seems to come alive with vibrant colours.

Enjoying the Outdoors

Spring is the perfect time for outdoor activities. The weather is neither too hot nor too cold. I love to play in parks, enjoy picnics, and take long walks during spring.

In conclusion, spring is my favourite season because of its beauty and the opportunities it provides to enjoy the outdoors.

250 Words Essay on My Favourite Season

Every season brings its own unique charm, but the one I hold dearest to my heart is autumn. Often overshadowed by the vibrant summer or the cozy winter, autumn, for me, is a sublime blend of the two, offering a warm, tranquil ambiance that resonates with my soul.

The Aesthetic Appeal

Autumn is an artist’s dream, a season that transforms the world into a living canvas. The leaves morph from monotonous green to a spectrum of reds, oranges, and yellows, painting a breathtaking panorama that no other season can replicate. The soft rustling of the leaves underfoot and the crisp air tinged with the scent of earth and rain, create a sensory symphony that is both soothing and invigorating.

Symbolism of Autumn

Autumn is not just a visual delight; it is a season rich in symbolism. It represents change and transformation, reminding us of the cyclical nature of life. As the leaves fall, they symbolize the need to shed the old to make way for the new, a lesson that resonates deeply in our personal and academic lives.

Autumn Activities

Autumn also brings with it a plethora of activities. From apple picking to pumpkin carving, from hiking through the autumn foliage to cozy evenings by the fire, the season is a treasure trove of experiences that are both simple and profound.

In conclusion, autumn is my favorite season, not just for its aesthetic appeal, but also for its symbolism and the unique experiences it offers. It is a season that inspires, rejuvenates, and evokes a sense of serenity and introspection, making it a truly special time of the year.

500 Words Essay on My Favourite Season

Introduction: the charm of seasons, autumn: a symphony of colours.

Autumn is often associated with a rich palette of colours. The leaves change from a monotonous green to a vibrant array of yellows, oranges, and reds. This transformation is not just a visual spectacle but a metaphor for life itself. It signifies the importance of change, of letting go, and of rejuvenation. The trees shed their leaves, preparing for a new cycle of life, much like how we must shed old habits and thoughts to make way for new perspectives.

The Weather: A Mellow Respite

The weather during autumn is another aspect that makes it my favourite season. The scorching heat of the summer gives way to a mellow coolness, while the biting cold of winter is still a distant thought. The days are warm, and the nights are cool, providing a comfortable balance. This weather is symbolic of a calm equilibrium, a lesson about the importance of balance in life.

Autumn: A Season of Harvest

Autumn nights: a celestial spectacle.

The clear autumn nights provide a celestial spectacle, with the stars shining brightly against the dark sky. This clarity and brightness serve as a metaphor for hope and aspiration. Even in the darkness, there is a light guiding us, much like the stars guide us through the dark autumn nights.

Conclusion: Autumn, A Season of Life’s Lessons

In conclusion, autumn, for me, is more than just a season. It is a teacher imparting life’s lessons through its changing colours, mellow weather, abundant harvest, and clear nights. It is a season of introspection, of understanding the importance of change, balance, patience, and hope. It is a season that reminds us of the cyclical nature of life, encouraging us to embrace change and look forward to rejuvenation. This profound connection with autumn makes it my favourite season.

Here's an example of a descriptive essay about nature, accompanied by an explanation of its effectiveness.

Autumn, the season of transformation and melancholic beauty, casts its enchanting spell upon the world. As the year matures, nature bestows upon us a visual and sensory feast like no other. The grand finale of the seasonal symphony, autumn is a time when the Earth dons its most splendid attire, revealing a captivating blend of vibrant colors, crisp air, and a sense of bittersweet nostalgia.

The most striking hallmark of autumn is the resplendent foliage that adorns the trees. Once lush and green, the leaves now transition into a breathtaking display of gold, crimson, and burnt orange. They flutter and descend gracefully to the ground, creating a vibrant carpet underfoot. The rustling sound of leaves in the gentle breeze is a soothing lullaby, and the vibrant tapestry overhead is a masterpiece of nature's artistry.

The air turns cooler, and a newfound crispness invigorates the senses. It carries the delicate scent of fallen leaves and hints of woodsmoke from chimneys. The sun, now lower in the sky, casts a warm, slanted light that bathes everything in a soft, golden glow. It's a light that seems to capture the essence of nostalgia and reflection, reminding us that change is a beautiful and inevitable part of life.

Autumn also brings forth a cornucopia of harvests. Orchards are brimming with apples and pears, and pumpkin patches offer their bounty for the coming season's festivities. The vibrant hues of autumn fruits and vegetables mirror the natural world's transformation and serve as a reminder of our connection to the Earth's cycles.

This season of transition, however, is also tinged with melancholy. As the days grow shorter, we feel the impending hush of winter drawing near. The world appears to be in a state of graceful surrender, a lesson in letting go. Yet, in this release, there is a profound beauty that speaks to the transient nature of all things, a reminder that endings give way to new beginnings.

As autumn unfurls its rich tapestry, it encourages us to pause and savor the moment, to embrace the fleeting beauty of life's ever-changing seasons. It is a season that speaks to the heart and soul, offering a chance to reflect on the past, cherish the present, and anticipate the future. Autumn is not just a season; it is a profound and poetic meditation on the passage of time and the exquisite beauty found in the artful hand of nature.

Why Fall Is the Best Season

Why do people like the fall season

Transformation of Nature

To me, nature during the fall is one of the top reasons why fall is the best. Trees adorn landscapes with their rich shades of red, orange, and yellow, and crunchy leaves hit the ground. This explosion of color creates a picturesque backdrop for outdoor activities and scenic drives. I got married the first week of November and it was breathtaking!

The Weather

Fall simply brings relief from the summer heat. Opening windows in the house to let in an autumn breeze is just the best. The mild temperatures also allow for comfortable outdoor adventures without breaking a sweat.

Sweaters & Comfy Clothes

I love it when I can break out my flannels, leggings, and oversized sweaters! Fall fashion is all about comfort and style. It’s the season of cozy sweaters , warm color palettes, and layering.

As a person who someday wants to be a pumpkin farmer, pumpkins are another reason why I think fall is the best season. From pumpkin spice , pumpkin pies, and pumpkin-scented candles, fall is known for the delightful flavor and aroma of this beloved gourd.

Festivals & Events

There are usually so many local events and festivals during the fall season. I personally love going to farms, buying apple cider and baked goods, and going on hayrides!

Halloween Magic

For many kids and adults, Halloween is the highlight of the fall season. Dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, and the thrill of trick-or-treating all contribute to the enchantment of autumn. Halloween is my favorite holiday!

Fall is the perfect time for comforting dishes and warm apple cider. I love to make chili on the weekends and experiment with new baking recipes during this season.

Slowing Down

With the days getting shorter, fall evenings provide an opportunity to unwind and relax. After a busy summer, it’s refreshing to have a season to sit back and enjoy the simple things. The fireplace, Netflix, cozy socks, and blankets are the perfect combo for a night in!

Picture-Perfect Moments

Whether you’re an amateur or a professional photographer, this season provides a backdrop of unparalleled beauty for capturing precious memories. I try to get some nice shots of the leaves changing every year.

A Sense of Renewal

Fall is not just about endings; it’s also about beginnings. As nature sheds its old leaves, it symbolizes a fresh start. This season encourages self-reflection and personal growth, making it a perfect time to set new goals and aspirations.

The Magic Of Fall

As you embrace the crisp air and the pumpkin-spiced delights, take a moment to appreciate the magic that is fall.

Fall is special to everyone for their own reasons. Though we can all probably agree on the obvious reasons why it’s special, it means something different to each individual person. Whether that be football games, back to school, holidays, food, or spending more time with family, there are so many reasons why fall is the best.

Autumn is my Favorite Season

In this personal essay, the writer will express their fondness for the autumn season, describing the sensory experiences, activities, and feelings it evokes. The piece will discuss the aesthetic appeal of autumn, such as the changing leaves and cooler weather, and how these changes influence mood and lifestyle. It aims to provide a personal and descriptive account that resonates with readers who share a similar appreciation for autumn. How it works

Each person has their own favorite season. Some people like winter, which brings New Years, skiing, snowballing. Others admire the spring, sometimes the awakening of nature from sleep. Sometimes, when streams ring and drops cry. Someone simply adores summer: vacations, swimming in rivers, walks with friends. And I like autumn.

I think autumn is the most beautiful time. The leaves of the trees change their color, if in the summer they were green, now they glow with golden, crimson, orange colors.

Nature is preparing for a long winter sleep, but there are still warm days, it is so good to walk in the autumn park when fallen leaves are barely audible and mysteriously rustling underfoot as if saying goodbye to the past summer.

Fresh air smells like rotten leaves, wet earth. High in the sky, cranes are chirping and flying to hot countries.

Walking in the autumn park, I really like to collect bouquets of fallen colorful leaves.

It turns out such wonderful bright bouquets, which are in no way inferior to bouquets of flowers. I also like to use autumn leaves instead of bookmarks for books.

Most of all, I like autumn because it is the rainiest time, I really like to walk in the rain. When it’s time for long rains, it’s so nice to get into a comfortable chair, cover yourself with a blanket and, listening to the sound of the rain outside the window, read some interesting book, or just dream about something.

Every year our school hosts the Golden Autumn holiday. The assembly hall is decorated with garlands of autumn leaves, and on the tables – gifts of autumn, because autumn is the time for harvesting.

All our poets wrote about autumn, showered it with dozens of epithets, autumn was depicted on their canvases by all great painters, conveying with paints all the splendor of this divine beauty.

Near my house, a rowan grows under the window, how beautiful it is in autumn! When leaves have already flown from all the trees, the mountain ash simply blazes with its clusters of scarlet berries.

I love the time of falling leaves, when the leaves slowly swirling in the air, slowly falling and covering the whole earth with a golden carpet. I also like it when in the fall the loose leaves gathered in a heap are burned. For some reason, the smell of these leaves always evokes in me a feeling of some kind of nagging sadness and sadness, but light and light sadness. I was born in the fall, maybe that’s why I love this most wonderful time of the year with all my heart and soul. I am always looking forward to the onset of this wonderful time, which gives me happiness and joy.

Nothing is quite so remarkable as the change that takes place in the autumn. Where not so long ago we were surrounded by bushes and trees resplendent in their summer greens, we are now living in a world of jumbled hues of orange and gold and rust. Where just days ago the lawn around the house was a well-vacuumed carpet of grass, clipped and tidy, it is now virtually covered over with fallen dried leaves. Autumn lingers like pleasant memories from a good friend’s visit, like the fresh-scrubbed oxygen that a thunderstorm leaves behind. It is a time of change when every morning brings new colors, new smells, and an altered vista. It is a time when even as the pace of change quickens in the natural world, the pace of man slows. It is the season of meandering strolls through multihued glens, through the melancholy fluttering of leaves falling to the ground.

Autumn is a time of introspection when the sniff of drying foliage and loam slow the mind to consider days past, the highs and lows of a life. Every season has its own beauty, but autumn, like spring, brings with it a mood. If spring exults in new life, autumn examines the old; if spring is the anticipation of tomorrow, autumn is a meditation on yesterday. So much of life is a process; so much of it is just paying attention. What good is our stumbling if we never look back to understand why we tripped? What good is a victory if it doesn’t leave us more humble? What good is life itself if tomorrow doesn’t find us better than we were the day before? In the magnificent untidiness of our life-walk, it is necessary to pause beneath the drifting, dying leaves of autumn and examine the grace just spent. I want to learn to pay better attention: to listen, to observe, to learn. Nature never stands still; it is always moving, pressing into the next day. Today’s tree will be taller tomorrow—or it will be fallen, lying dead and rotting in last year’s leaves. Today’s grass, luxuriously pliant and green, will tomorrow be brittle and parched, brown and sharp to the touch. The fawn that accompanies his mother today will next year be taller and on his own—or he may become a hunter’s trophy. Time never stops.

Season passes into season, change inevitably comes. As I gaze out my window, into the trees of Land Park that each day put on new clothes, I feel a sense of urgency. What have I accomplished today? The days continue to tick by; what am I doing that will yield eternal results? The person I pass on the street today will tomorrow be older—or dead. What have I done today so that his tomorrow will be something more than just his being one day older? Have I been kind to those around me, or have I been impatient and rude? Do I expect everyone to be perfect like me? Or do I allow for the imperfections everyone else permits me? Will the world be better—or larger—tomorrow, because of something I’ve done today? Have I filled up each day using the gifts God has graciously entrusted to me? Have I used them or have I squandered them? Some young plants and trees still need to be watered in the autumn. They ask for deep-rooted sustenance to carry them through the dormancy of winter. As I fill the old galvanized bucket with water and carry it to the base of the small tree newly planted in the yard, I notice a few drops leaking from the bottom edge, trailing a glistening path of drips through the drying leaves that carpet the grass. And I realize that when we are born, we are each given a bucketful of days. God fills our bucket to overflowing, pouring into it, as well, all God’s goodness and blessings, gifts and opportunities. As time passes, the days drip out, one by one, until, at our earthly end, the bucket is dry. Our days have run out. Our gifts and opportunities have reached their end. No more. Each of us begins with a bucketful of days. But only God knows how many days are in our bucket. Will we spend them well?

16 Reasons Why Autumn Is the Best Season. Period.

My husband would solidly disagree, but I have my reasons as to why autumn is the best season.

You get to wear the comfiest clothing and galavant around sipping on hot cider drinks . All of the solid foods involved with autumn are delicious, too, even that weird canned cranberry sauce. Any overindulging is hidden by all of the oversized sweaters you’ll pull out from underneath the bed.

It’s just the best time, especially if you’re somewhere with excellent fall foliage.

Throw on your flannels and settle in because I’m taking you on a ride through the best things autumn brings us , year after year.

Why do people love autumn?

People love autumn because it tends to bring color to the surrounding landscapes. There’s also something rejuvenating about a crispness in the air.

Reasons Why Autumn Is the Best Season

Autumn is the best season because it sets the stage for things many people like to do: get comfy, cuddle up with a good book underneath that favorite plush blanket, and even reflect on the passing time as the leaves float down from the trees.

Too much? It won’t all be that serious. Move over, hot girl summer. Autumn is my favorite season for a reason. Well, there are 16 of them, actually. Here we go!

1. Fall foliage meets all expectations.

A beautiful fall vista, one of the top reasons why autumn is the best season

Why is fall the best season? Fall is the best season because it’s the perfect time to get cozy and embrace the changing weather. At its best, it’s also the most scenic.

My first New England trip in October met all expectations when it came down to leaf-peeping. Yes, I’m using the phrase “leaf peeping.” It’s cute and it’s fun and it’s a super fun thing to do during autumn, so get over it.

There is just nothing like a real autumn where those leaves start turning colors and the trees are set ablaze with oranges, reds, and yellows. It tops the best things about fall.

I’m not being hyperbolic when I say I felt something akin to a gut punch when I really saw it for the first time.

Vermont is the best state for fall foliage from what I’ve seen so far, in my humble opinion.

Fun fact: Peak leaf peeping varies from year to year, but early to mid-October is likely your best bet for foliage in the Northeast if that’s what you’re after.

2. The sound of crunchy leaves is a delight.

As you’re moseying down your favorite trails or just taking a brisk walk around the neighborhood, you’ll likely hear that signature crunch that’s so delightful in the fall months. Those are the leaves you were peeping at a few days to weeks prior.

If they haven’t formed that signature mulch that happens in Chicago around November , it’s all still a good time. Crunch away.

3. Fall means excellent hiking weather.

A woman gets ready to hike, one of the top reasons why autumn is the best season.

Even in San Diego , a mostly dry climate, we would need to wake up pretty early to hit the trails if we wanted to get a hike in during the warmer months.

As long as it’s not pouring rain, fall makes for some excellent hiking weather. It’s one of the top reasons to love fall if you love being outdoors. It’s cooler throughout the day, meaning you don’t have to get up at the crack of dawn to hit your favorite trails.

You may still want to do that to avoid the humans on said trails, but that’s another thing altogether.

4. Your favorite shows are back.

Maybe you don’t think the summer hiatus is a big deal, but once that cooler weather hits, you’ll be happy that your old favorites are back to get you through to warmer days.

It’s just pretty great to cozy up and turn on that show you’ve been waiting for, just to see your favorite character killed off if it’s Shonda Rhimes.

The return of football is also something many enjoy about the season of autumn. I’m not one of those people but can appreciate it when my husband wins his annual Fantasy Football league. I like money.

5. Fall flavors are delectable.

A cider donut, one of the top reasons why autumn is the best season

I’m not trying to trigger anyone here about pumpkin spice. It’s fine, and honestly, nothing people should be getting so angry about every year.

Guys, there are bigger things to get so upset about.

I’m talking about everything else. It’s maple and cider and salted caramel. It’s cranberries and warm apple pies and spiced hot beverages and caramel apples.

Yes, it’s also pumpkin. Throw it in a pumpkin pie and it’s likely less offensive to you, right?

Fall flavors are my favorite flavors, and they just taste better when the weather’s getting all crispy and you’re inside all warm and tucked in with a hot cider. If you’re nice to me I’ll even share.

6. Hot drinks are in.

I mentioned this a little bit above, but it bears repeating. Fall drinks are delicious.

Tell me about a time you had some hot spiced cider that didn’t end in the comfiest cozy night of your life.

Give me a reason why you don’t like mulled wine that doesn’t include the fact that you’re a monster.

Maybe I’m being too dramatic, but I haven’t even mentioned pumpkin spice. Again, there are better things. There are also worse things. It’ll be all right.

7. Fall fashion is forgiving.

A woman walks her dog in the fall, one of the reasons why autumn is the best season.

You look beautiful just the way you are, even if the pandemic hit you harder than most. When September hits and you’re living in a place with seasons , it won’t matter soon enough anyway.

Fall fashion is so forgiving.

Throw on an oversized sweater and leggings and all of a sudden you’re some supermodel. Work the room, friend . Work those leaves.

8. Sweater weather is comfy.

On top of hiding all of your favorite lumps, the autumn season just begs for clothes that are all kinds of comfy .

As those cold spells hit the closer you get to winter, nobody will care what you’re wearing anyway. I mean, they likely don’t care anyway, unless you’re trying to enter the local grocery store without shoes or a shirt.

Autumn is about comfort. It’s about staying warm. You don’t need to worry about being too trendy when those teeth are chattering. You just want to warm up. That hot cider will help.

9. Summer tourism is over.

A woman feeds a goat on a farm, one of the best reasons why autumn is the best season.

There are some places that you really should visit in the summer months.

Most places, though, are better in the fall. The best national parks are less crowded because the kids are back at school. People are generally traveling less as they feel that chill in the air. You’ll have more goats to yourself .

Throw a scarf on and quit being a baby. Outside of New England during leaf-peeping season, there’s a whole world waiting for you out there at budget-friendly prices.

That’s because you’re traveling in the off-season.

Note: Traveling abroad over the Thanksgiving holiday is one of my favorite things to do. Domestic travel can become terrible, especially air travel, but most Americans stay put come November. That means fewer Americans abroad. Huzzah! Your family will understand when you break the news to them if they’re cool.

Traveling throughout New England in the fall is awesome, by the way. I was in no way disparaging the experience, as it’s the thing bucket lists are made of.

10. You’re not sticky all the time.

Why is autumn better than summer? Autumn is better than summer because summer heat can get pretty unbearable, especially if you’re dealing with humidity where you live. That’s likely most of the country.

I was lucky enough not to deal with that during our time in San Diego , but it really was like a slap in the face when we returned to the Midwest temporarily afterward.

It was a wet, hot, sticky slap in the face.

11. The pumpkins have eyes.

A woman sits in a garden of pumpkins, one of the reasons why autumn is the best season.

Come October, the pumpkin game gets intense. They come in all different shapes and sizes. They come in all different colors.

Some of these gourds even have eyes.

I’m saying they have eyes painted on by local fall-loving artists, not actual eyes.

Embrace the pumpkin craze. Buy one. Buy another one. Hold them dear until they rot on your porch.

12. Goodbye, bugs.

Can you tell there have been moments in my life where I’ve really liked sending summer on its way?

I love autumn because cooler temperatures mean fewer bugs. A Wisconsin lakehouse weekend sounds like a great time until a mosquito bites you on the face and then comes back for more in an even harder-to-scratch area.

Ticks and fleas are also less prevalent as temperatures go down, but you should still take precautions if you’re out hiking. Bring the bug spray and hose yourself down with that DEET, even in the fall.

Note: DEET is your best protection against preventing tick bites and the worst diseases that can come from them. Brian has had a bout of Lyme disease. He’s fine today, but we didn’t know that then. It’s scary, but mostly preventable if you protect yourselves.

13. October is when things get spooky.

Spooktober is one of my favorite things about fall. I do not like scary movies. I watch them in between my fingers just in case that helps. I’m afraid of the dark for no reason other than it’s dark.

I love Halloween, though. When we’re invited somewhere fun for the holiday, I love dressing up. Tell me my husband and I didn’t nail Hall & Oates.

A couple in costume, one of the best reasons why autumn is the best season

I love spooky experiences, like haunted forests, haunted houses , and towns like Salem known for their witchy pasts.

I just likely won’t sleep much after, and that’s my cross to bear for my love of Spooktober. If you’re already decorating your hours in September for a little Spooktember, by the way, I salute you.

14. It’s easy to visit snuggle city.

When you’re feeling kind of chilly, it’s only natural to want to snuggle up with the nearest honey.

That can mean your dog , too. Mine is an excellent snuggler who pretends like she’s never been told she isn’t allowed on the furniture.

If you don’t have a loved one around or a furry friend, you really should get a dog .

It’s also fun to curl up with your favorite blanket and dust off that book that’s been on your shelf for way too long. I’m sure there’s something on Netflix you haven’t watched if the idea of that is too painful.

15. Winter is coming.

A beautiful view of a church with changing leaves, one of the big reasons why autumn is the best season

Now, hear me out. Winter is terrible. We left the Midwest for San Diego for seven years because of things like Chicago’s snowmageddon and the city’s dibs habits when it comes to saving parking spots after big snowstorms.

That makes fall feel all the more urgent. It forces you outside to take in those last breaths of summer if you’re lucky.

There’s always that week of unseasonably warm weather in October, at least there always was when I lived in the Midwest .

Fun fact: The hottest Halloween in Chicago was in 1950, when temperatures hit 84 degrees. I can only imagine the spicy Disney princess costumes that year.

16. There’s no judgment about the weird stuff you do.

Perhaps you’ve always wanted to dress up as something real niche for Halloween. As long as you’re not culturally appropriating anyone, you do you.

Maybe you’re sick of all the attention on Movember and want to take the beauty routine down a notch. I promise that your husband won’t care if you miss leg day.

I’m talking about shaving your legs, not working your calves.

If you’re only here because you’re writing an autumn season essay for a teacher lacking imagination in this moment — it’s OK, she’s overworked and underpaid — just remember this: fall is a time for reinvention.

Autumn is the season of reflection and setting yourself up for the mental anguish that can be the holidays. If you can’t relate to that, can I spend the next round with you?

Best Things About Autumn: FAQs

Why is autumn so peaceful.

Autumn is so peaceful because it signals a gentle transition. The cooling weather and falling leaves create a calm atmosphere. The fall season begs for introspection, especially with a mug of something involving fall spices in hand.

Why is fall the most beautiful season?

Fall is the most beautiful season because of the changing leaves. The vibrant foliage, ranging from fiery reds to golden yellows, paints a picturesque landscape, especially if you’re in New England. The soft sunlight only adds to the enchanting effect with its warm glow.

Am I a poet now?

Is autumn the most liked season?

Autumn is the most liked season if recent polls are to be believed. At least in the United States, fall typically edges out summer as the overall favorite season among people polled.

This is certainly not scientific polling, but I side with the autumn enthusiasts.

Why Fall Is My Favorite Season

Fall is my favorite season because it’s when I feel my best. Why is autumn the best season? When I’m experiencing a true fall with its crisp temperatures and the smell of crunchy leaves underfoot, I feel joy. I also don’t care how basic it is to feel a pull toward fall. When it’s done right, fall is the best.

Now, when it’s done wrong, as is often the case in the Midwest and its gloom and rain, I could take or leave it. That’s where fall in New England comes in, though. There’s not much that’s more whimsical than a steaming cup of cider up against a backdrop of those fall leaves.

Fall Is the Best Season for Travel

Your Flight: I use a variety of tools to find cheap airfare, but if you’re looking to book during a particular period of time, especially during busy times (e.g. leaf-peeping season in New England), you should search on Skyscanner .

It’s great for searching when you’re more flexible, too, as it allows you to compare travel based on length of travel, departure date, etc.

For adventurous folks who travel on the reg, I also subscribe to  Going , formerly Scott’s Cheap Flights. You’ll get cheap flight deals from your home base straight to your inbox, especially during the fall season.

Your Accommodations: I generally recommend websites like Booking.com and Hotels.com for your accommodation needs. They both offer loyalty programs and now offer listings that are more of the home or condo rental variety. Vrbo has become my go-to Airbnb alternative.

Seeking even more wallet-friendly accommodations? Try Hostelworld . Their picks are heavily vetted and reviewed to offer you a safe experience on a budget.

This was a prompt that until recently I would have used for my students when we were working on expository writing. It required little in the way of research, we knew a lot about autumn living in the northeast. However, when I really began to break a task like this down, I realized that what my students were writing was opinion in purpose. True exposition requires some kind of research unless a student brings a wealth of knowledge about a topic.

What I was really asking my students in an assignment like this was to make a choice, their favorite, and then to back that up with some sound reasoning. There are language cues that helped me to tailor other assignments for a specific purpose. Some opinion language cues are: Explain why you like or why you’re in favor of, choose a position and provide reasons, and describe what you like or dislike. If the purpose of the assignment is informative, then these cues are helpful: Write an essay or report about, compare _____ to _____, or write a piece explaining.

The piece here, all about Autumn, has a great sense of voice and plenty of sensory detail that answers the question, What does it look like? There is a variety of main idea sentences, one is even a question. The author’s enthusiasm for the topic is apparent. There are however areas that need some work. For instance, the redundant language that appears throughout the piece or the “bookends” – the introduction and conclusion paragraphs could use to be stronger.

English Summary

My Favourite Season Essay

A season is a period of the year that is characterized by special climate conditions. There are four major seasons we are blessed with, to relish every year, namely- Spring, Summer, Autumn (Fall) and Winter. Each season holds its own importance and distinctiveness.

Our school remains closed for nearly two months, which I believe is the best part. During the vacations, I am also allowed to sleep for longer hours. I get to engage in numerous fun activities.

I go to waterparks and play until I am exhausted and dive into a cold pool of water, to rejuvenate in the end. I also visit my grandparents who pamper me without limit.

On summer evenings my mom and dad cook different dishes together in the open air. I also lend a hand to them by washing a few dishes and setting the tables.

Later, in the evening we all sit in the open air and snack together. Additionally, my father plays an old 80s song at the backdrop to add ambiance to the setting.

Autumn: A Season of Enchantment and Reflection

As the sun’s relentless vigor wanes and the days begin to shorten, a cool whisper in the air announces the arrival of autumn. It is a season that does not burst onto the scene with the flamboyance of spring or the languid heat of summer but instead, arrives with a subtle grace that transforms the world into a canvas of fiery hues and golden light. Autumn is my favorite season, a time of enchantment and reflection, of harvest and preparation, of beauty and transience.

essay on my favourite season autumn

The Majesty of Autumn’s Palette

Autumn is an artist, and its medium is the very leaves that adorn the trees. The greens of summer give way to the reds, oranges, and yellows of the fall. This metamorphosis is a visual feast, a spectacle that invites onlookers to stand in awe of nature’s inherent beauty. The leaves become flames against the ever-clearer blue sky, and the forests turn into a cathedral of color, with every tree a stained glass window radiating with divine light.

Harvest: A Time of Abundance and Gratitude

This season is also a time of harvest, where the bounty of the earth is gathered and celebrated. Orchards are heavy with fruit, fields are golden with grain, and gardens are filled with the last blooms of the year. It is a time for apple picking and pumpkin carving, for hayrides and corn mazes. The harvest is not just a collection of the year’s growth but a communal act of gratitude, a recognition of the earth’s generosity and the labor of those who cultivate it.

Festivities and Traditions

With the harvest comes a series of festivities that mark the season. Halloween, with its costumes and candies, invites the playful and the macabre to dance together under the autumn moon. Thanksgiving follows, a time for families to gather and give thanks for the blessings of the year. These celebrations are steeped in tradition and history, each adding depth to the tapestry of autumn.

A Time for Reflection and Change

Autumn is inherently reflective. As the leaves fall, they remind us of the cycle of life, of growth and decay, and of the impermanence of all things. The chill in the air prompts introspection, an inward turn to thoughts and feelings as the world prepares for the dormancy of winter. It is a natural time to consider change, to let go of old habits and to embrace new paths, just as the trees let go of their leaves in preparation for new growth.

Conclusion: Embracing the Autumnal Spirit

As the season progresses, the days grow shorter, and the nights longer, autumn’s lesson becomes clear: life is a cycle of change, and beauty can be found in every part of that cycle. To love autumn is to embrace change, to find joy in the harvest and wisdom in the falling leaves. It is to walk through the woods, breath visible in the crisp air, and feel a connection to the world that is both humbling and exhilarating.

Autumn is my favorite season because it is a reminder of the beauty of change, the importance of gratitude, and the value of reflection. It is a season that speaks to the soul, and its message is one of profound simplicity: life is fleeting, so savor every moment.

It’s during this time that trees shed their leaves and become bare. The brown, dead leaves that are left behind give the trees a dull look and they may not always look attractive. However, once the first winter snow starts falling, these leafless trees assume an enchanting beauty which can be compared to none other. During this season there is abundance of fruits like persimmon and grapes which are available in plenty. Tourists throng to see famous autumn leaves spots around Japan.

The autumn season is closely associated with poems , paintings and songs which enhance the charm of this season. The cherry blossom festival, chrysanthemum shows and kabuki performances are some of the interesting events that take place during autumn. Art galleries and museums become very active during this time and special exhibitions are put up for guests.
