About access to master theses

Full text Electronic versions of the most recent theses are included in the  TU/e Repository . These electronic versions are made available as widely as possible ( open access ). If a department does not grant open access, access will be campus-only. The publications may then be viewed only by TU/e staff and students who are logged into the TU/e network.   Paper versions Paper versions of theses that have not yet been digitized may be requested by TU/e students and staff for review from our Stackroom. When possible theses that have been requested for review are digitized afterwards, so that they are available on-line in full text.   Thesis not available? 1. Theses that are still under embargo will be available only once the embargo expires. 2. A thesis has not (yet) been supplied by the department to the Library:                 2.1. The Library has not yet received the thesis: there is only a catalog record (metadata).                 2.2. The Library has not received the thesis: there is also no catalog record (metadata).

For students and thesis supervisors Is your thesis (or a thesis of your student) not available when it should be available? Please contact the CSA (Center for Student Administration) of your department. They deliver the theses and the corresponding data to the Library.

For general questions about theses and theses already in the TU/e Repository you can contact [email protected].

When preparing your MSc thesis you may want to check the assessment form as a reference for the relevant criteria. Further you should consider some requirements about the format (title page, Code of Scientific Conduct MSc Thesis), the press release and the form for formal end of your project. Check directly to for a direct link to the Master thesis forms.

Special attention needs to be paid to possible confidentiality of the final graduation report: the report is public and will be published in the library. If the organization in which the graduation project has taken place considers that publication of the research would harm its interests, the student must write the report such that it is suitable for publication. In general this will imply the masking of data and possibly an appendix that is kept confidential. Masking of data is only acceptable if the Word 2007 Redaction Tool is used (install via  http://redaction.codeplex.com ), otherwise confidentiality cannot be guaranteed! In any case, the report must be readable without the markings/appendix. Any changes made to the report on behalf of confidentiality must always be approved by the first supervisor!
