Research & Impact Services (R&IS) is seeking an Interdisciplinary Research Support Officer. The role will be responsible for managing a new team of Interdisciplinary Research Programme Administrators within R&IS, working within the Spotlights Programme.
The role will offer the right candidate an exciting opportunity to shape the Spotlight Programme, playing a pivotal role in the smooth running of interdisciplinary activity across the University, driving exciting and ground-breaking projects.
The IDR Spotlight Programme was launched in April 2024 to foster excellence in interdisciplinary research and impact, raise Warwick’s profile nationally and internationally, and nurture a vibrant interdisciplinary research culture.
This role will engage with academic leadership across the six Spotlights, coordinating the programme and identifying synergies to ensure that activities are efficiently aligned and implemented.
This role will appeal to those passionate about interdisciplinary research and interested in what drives a thriving research culture and innovative teams.
The post-holder will have broad experience in event and project management, with a track record of driving new initiatives and fostering collaboration to achieve strategic goals.
Good people skills, leadership, and emotional intelligence will be essential for building effective partnerships and sustaining active communities of practice.
The post-holder will ensure the effective management of the Spotlight programme’s budget, maintaining compliance while maximising its impact to contribute to the programme's success.

Student Research Support Officer (Journals) (100441-1123)
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning (IATL) at the University of Warwick across projects in the department’s undergraduate research portfolio, with particular emphasis on our journal Reinvention: an International Journal of Undergraduate Research . The post holder will work cooperatively to develop the strategic direction for the journal, as well as our conference, the International Conference of Undergraduate Research (ICUR).
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to both the department’s and the wider University’s strategy for Student Research, through developing a wide variety of activities to feed into Reinvention . The Student Research Support Officer (Journal) will have oversight of both the annual publishing schedule for Reinvention , including any special issues and external or internal collaborations, and the training and development programme that complements the Journal’s supportive and structured dissemination opportunities. The postholder will be able to collaborate with our student co-creation teams for the journal and the conference, as well as groups across the institution such as the Student Research Working Group and Warwick University Press.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
We are looking for an experienced administrator with a background in publishing and an enthusiasm for research in all its forms. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and have strong experience of working in the publishing industry and/or with journals, as well as managing the development and implementation of large projects and/or events in a university environment (or related industry).
The post-holder will have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as the ability to organise, manage and interpret data and work to tight deadlines with multiple competing priorities. They will be able to work successfully with colleagues and as part of a team, as well as managing and providing training to our student co-creators and project participants.

How 'student as researcher' can help.
The Student as Researcher team at University of Warwick provides a wide range of research support for students and staff across disciplines. Our experienced team works closely with academics to develop research skills interventions tailored to specific modules and subject areas. We assist with implementing experiential and active learning approaches in the curriculum and creating bespoke online resources, tutorials, and videos. The Student as Researcher team offers flexible support through standalone or integrated sessions at the point of need. We can provide guidance on developing formative and summative assessments that incorporate research skills as well as opportunities for students to hone their skills. Our goal is to empower students as researchers by equipping them with transferable skills that will benefit their studies, future careers, and lifelong learning.
